About Me

Michael Szabo is a versatile sports broadcaster based in South Carolina. 

He has experience with play-by-play broadcasting across several sports including soccer, basketball, baseball, softball, lacrosse, field hockey, and wrestling at the NCAA Division I and II levels. Michael currently provides play-by-play for several schools including Presbyterian College, Converse University, The Citadel, and Winthrop University.

In 2024, he moved down to the Carolinas from New York City as part of the next step to his career. Prior to the move, Michael provided play-play for Adelphi University (NCAA D-II) for three seasons. There he called soccer, basketball, baseball, and softball games throughout the academic year. Michael also called some games for Wagner College Baseball and Manhattan SC (USL League 2). In the 2023-24 season, Michael was a member of the Long Island Nets (NBA's Brooklyn Nets' G-League Affiliate) Stats Crew. This role involved tracking each event of a game from start to finish and working with a crew in order to do even using replay to ensure accuracy. At the same time, Michael worked full-time at the New York City Council serving as a Constituent Services Liaison for the Office of Councilmember Robert Holden. 

Michael is a graduate of St. John's University (NY) where he earned a Master in Public Administration (Government and Politics) with a minor in Sports Management.
